| The Iko-Meditation Technique "A Path of Awakening from Within and Without" The Iko-Meditation Technique was first introduced in 1987 as a distinct school of meditation, by Adisaji Maina Omar, founder of the Ikologiks Center for Global Studies (Ikologiks University). This path/school of meditation is quite unique, because it does not adhere to a strict religious creedo, dogma, ideology or affiliation to some mystical lineage. It does not require practitioners to submit to theological system. Instead, the Iko-MT is designed to foster the spiritual aspirant's (sadhu) direct experience of self-power, self-knowledge, personal self-transformation and self-realization without bowing to some preconceived deity, "guru," or interpretation of religious scriptures and doctrines. The Iko-MT is conveyed through three basic units/levels of initiation. The first level is designed to introduce the pracititioner into the science of attaining "ultimate mental power" or sustaintable self-fulfillment in order to achieve one's goals, desires and ability to serve others. The first level of the technique places the individual on the path of "leadership" and not "followership" so spirituality maturity can commence. The second level of the Iko-MT fosters detachment, discrimination, discernment and self-discipline in the practitioner's personal journey in the attainment of self-transformation or self-realization. In order to evade the veil of illusion/delusion that circumvents the attainment of self-realization the second level of the Iko-MT focuses on teaching some empowering tools of self-mastery. The student is also given their first introduction to the experience of the purifying nature of spiritual transformation through the power of "maha-shakti" or the empowering potency of kundalini yoga. The final stage or level of the Iko-MT focuses on the life-long pursuit of transcendental cosmic consciousness or enlightenment (nirvana, samadhi, transfiguration). The focus of this level is to bind collective seekers to experience the "Effulgence" of transfiguration. Collectively, the three levels of the Iko-MT are not taught in a linear fashion, but are given in degrees in an integrated formulation based upon each student's readiness and character. |
